We apologize for the delay in updates on Hudson. After we first left the hospital we were overwhelmed with our new "normal." With that said, we've had an overabundance of help from family and friends, which made the initial transition a little easier and we are forever grateful to each one of you.
Even though Hudson is not really allowed out anywhere other than clinic, we have kept ourselves busy over the last few months with lots of FAMILY TIME!! A total blessing in disguise if you ask us!? It has been tough on all at times yet the memories/bonds made are completely priceless and unforgettable. A situation like this forces you to look at the positives, it's the only way to "survive," and one of those would be that you learn to appreciate and cherish time with the ones you love a little more than you did before.
To bring all up to date as to what we've been up to outside of caring for Hudson and clinic appointments this spring/summer; We've been able to fully enjoy him and our family in little ways which to us are SO big! We've made several trips to the ice cream shop where we've enjoyed ice cream out the back of our trunk. Harlowe and Jon enjoyed a weekend down at the family farm. Ashley and Jon enjoyed a night out with Shanna and Ross at the Phantom of the Opera. Harlowe was able to take swim lessons thanks to the help of Jon's cousin Julie and the pool membership privileges of Grandma and Grandpa Allen. Oliver learned to ride a scooter and crush a baseball off a teeball stand. Night trips to dip the "big kids" in the community pool. Endless amounts of day trips, cookouts, sleepovers, and special one on one moments with Grandma, Grandpa and Lindsey. Weekend visits from Grandma Neannie. Harlowe went on a day princess cruise with Aunt Shanna and cousin Lyla and the endless fun adventures Harlowe and Oliver experienced with Aunt Shanna during clinic days. Hudson met Grandpa Oren for the 1st time. Mother's and Father's Day fun. Jon enjoyed a couple golf outings with friends and family and Ashley hit the Beyonce concert with Shanna. Ashley and Jon also enjoyed a night out with the Drayer's (A close "heart family") at the Reds Congenital Heart Awareness baseball game. Jon, Harlowe and Oliver enjoyed a few days at Norris lake with family over the 4th of July and Ashley recently started a superhero themed mural for Hudson's nursery!
As you can see, as difficult as this situation is, gratefully we were still able to "enjoy" these past few months which has helped get us through those tough days and our "fear of the unknown" moments. We cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the continued sacrifices, love, prayers and support you have shown us over the last few months. We truly wouldn't be able to get through all of this without you. Please keep the prayers coming, as we need Hudson to be the healthiest and strongest he has been for the coming months ahead...We will continue to update when we can!
Love to you all...
