The best part about today was we were once again able to hold and feed our little guy. Being able to do this following his omphalocele surgery but then paused during heart surgery/recovery has been tough on us...but seeing him improve his health has been well worth the wait. Ashley was at home when we received the news we could hold/feed and immediately made her way up to be the "first" one to take care of her hero. As soon as she walked in, Hudson heard her voice and instantly perked up. She began to hold him and he instantly fell asleep. He loves his mom! Below are some pictures from them bonding again.
Special thanks to nurses Stephanie and Liz who were outstanding last night and today, especially during the process of removing his tubes. They made it painless for Hudson (and dad)!
